Bobbing up and down

This morning, I spied my first common seal from this ship, bobbing up and down in the water. It was totally relaxed as the ship cruised past only 50 meters away from it, as we headed towards Newcastle. Contrary to its name, the common seal is actually far less common in these waters than their cousin the grey seal. What a wonderful way to start the day!
