The United Nations announced 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity, and people all over the world are working to safeguard this irreplaceable natural wealth and reduce biodiversity loss. This is vital for current and future human wellbeing. We need to do more. Now is the time to act. The International Year of Biodiversity is a huge opportunity to increase understanding of the vital role that biodiversity plays in sustaining life on our planet.
To celebrate the year of biodiversity we have made a 2010 year of biodiversity poster. It has been very successful with the children, they all want to draw on it, and it is also raising awareness to the parents as well, which is great. In the last shift we have many drawings on it such as dolphins, cats, jellyfish, and other land and marine animals as I don’t want it to be just about the sea as many terrestrial animals are endangered too,
Looks like I will have to make another poster on my next shift as it looks like it will be full up by the time I get back on board.
