What a beautiful start to the season. The weather was glorious and there was a twinkle on the sea. It might have felt like summer but spring was in the air and we were witness to it as we strolled across the heathland on the Island of Fanø.
Fanø is a beautifully quaint island only ten minutes away from Esbjerg. This year, as part of our ORCA minicruise package we take our passengers over to the island for a leisurely stroll across the beaches and heath as we search for wildlife.
My highlights were the great views we got of hares, lapwings and rough-legged buzzards.
After such a ‘strenuous’ afternoon that included the leisurely amble across a diversity of habitats whilst listening to the song of the many skylarks overhead we thought it was necessary to find time to relax in the courtyard of a lovely little café. This job can be so demanding at times!
